Dr Karina Lickorish Quinn's debut novel The Dust Never Settles

The paperback of Dr Karina Lickorish Quinn's debut novel The Dust Never Settles was published in June 2022 by Oneworld Publications. The novel examines the legacy of colonialism in Peru, sweeping five hundred years of history through a cyclical narrative inspired by Andean conceptions of space-time.

The Dust Never Settles has been compared to the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende and Kazuo Ishiguro. In July 2022 its Spanish translation (El Polvo Nunca Se Asienta published by Editorial Arde) was recommended by the national Spanish television channel La Sexta as one of their six recommended reads for the month: https://www.lasexta.com/ahoraqueleo/libros-recomendados/6-mejores-libros-julio-que-recomendamos-leer-este-verano_2022072962e10caa2e7c280001866f81.html

Dr Lickorish Quinn has also been awarded a £10,000 'Developing Your Creative Practice' grant by Arts Council England to work on her second novel, an exploration of the destruction of the Amazon River by large-scale construction projects.
