Royal Holloway achieved a score of 79% for overall student satisfaction, three percentage points above the sector average.

Royal Holloway’s overall satisfaction score is also higher than 15 of the 22 Russell Group universities which appear in the survey.

The NSS, an independent student survey carried out by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies, is used by universities and colleges, as well as student unions, to drive improvements across multiple areas of students’ academic experience.

It is also used by prospective students to help inform their decision on which university to choose and what to study.

The survey captured the views of 324,329 students across the UK.

Professor Paul Layzell, Principal of Royal Holloway, said: “Despite returning to some normality during the last year, it has still been a challenging one for all of us, and we as a university have continued to make supporting our students, both in their studies and wellbeing, our highest priority.

“With that in mind, I am pleased to see this has been reflected with our above sector average score for overall student satisfaction. It rightly reflects our commitment to supporting our students’ success and the quality of education that we offer.

“At Royal Holloway our purpose is to advance knowledge and we strive to offer all students from all backgrounds the opportunity to succeed and achieve their goals.”
