Students' Union European Society

This is one of the most active and enjoyable student societies on campus. Although many European Studies students are members, it is open to all Royal Holloway students. It organises many social events during the year, from pub crawls to talks from guest speakers to an EU Institutions trip. This year the Society has been addressed by the European Studies Visiting Professor, Martyn Bond, former director of the Federal Trust think tank and by the Head of the European Commission's office in London, Mr Jonathan Scheele. During the previous year.

Furthermore, the Society in conjunction with the Politics and International Relations society organises a field trip to the European Commisson, the European Parliament and the NATO headquarters in Brussels. This is a great opportunity (especially for first years) to get to know fellow students and is a terrific insight into the various institutions.
