The Employee Engagement Survey Results are in!

In October last year, the College selected Capita Surveys and Research to conduct our 2014 employee engagement survey and the results are now in.  Thank you to everyone who completed the survey.  Just over 1000 of us filled the survey in, giving us a strong response rate of 46%.   Read the results of the survey here.

There is much to celebrate in the College wide survey results.    88% of us agree that our College is a good place to work.  84% of us are satisfied with the support we get from our managers.  94% of us feel safe and secure in our working environments.  There are areas where we could be performing better too.  Only 45% of us think that communication in the College is effective.  65% of us feel that more could be done to help staff prepare for and cope with change.

So what's next?  As well as College wide results, individual department reports are available.  A copy is available from your Head of Department/School.  During March, your Head of Department and HR Business Partner will host a workshop with you to review your results and agree what next for your team.   Together these plans will form an overall College approach to improve our performance in the areas highlighted.

Supporting Local Charities

For every member of staff that completed the survey, we donated £1 to charity. Three local charities were selected and staff voted for which charity they would like to support.   Payments are being made as follows:

£Sebastian’s Action Trust is a registered charity that provides respite holidays and many forms of practical support for seriously-ill children and their families. http://sebastiansactiontrust.org.

Next Steps helps people with depression in Woking, Runnymede and surrounding areas.   The College knows Next Steps through our community involvement and links with the umbrella organisations Cornerhouse. http://www.nextsteps.me.uk

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal local branches of Englefield Green & Egham Hythe. http://www.britishlegion.org.uk
