Is this a story about accountability? Privilege? Climate anxiety? Ecological responsibility? Familial relationships?

In collaboration with the Myth and Voice Initiative, run by Dr Efi Spentzou, the Iris Classics Centre are delighted to announce a community workshop where people can engage with the ancient Greek story of Phaethon, the boy that thought he could drive Sun's (his father's) chariot but ended up setting the world to flames. Other things? The workshop will be informal, friendly and fun, encouraging participants to think about how the story speaks to us, and what relevance its themes have in today’s world, and for our own lives.

The workshop is aimed at ages 16+ and will be hosted at the Iris Classics Centre Link at Cheney School, Oxford on Saturday 4th February, 2.00pm until 3.30pm. No prior knowledge is needed.

If you would like to attend or have any questions, please email Lorna Robinson (lro@cheneyschool.org).
