We offer three taught postgraduate MSc courses.

• The Energy Geosciences course has special emphasis on geosciences applied to exploration of energy resources as well as development of renewable and sustainable energy.

• The Environmental Diagnosis & Management course has strong involvement from environmental consultancies, local authorities and regulatory agencies.

• The Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology course focusses on rocks and hydrology of the immediate sub-surface from an engineering perspective.

These MSc courses are supported by industrial studentships, and have significant industrial involvement and support. They are internationally acclaimed and provide excellent employment prospects.

In addition, our MSc in Earth Sciences by Research offers a 1-year research project, with training in relevant skills and scientific knowledge.

All MSc coursess may be taken full-time or part-time.

The Department also offers academic direction to the Petroleum Geoscience by Distance Learning (MSc) which is available via the University of London International Programmes website. Choose from a range of course modules to tailor your learning, studying online over a period of years to earn your MSc.

From time to time, we make changes to our courses to improve the student and learning experience, and this is particularly the case as we continue to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. If we make a significant change to your chosen course, we’ll let you know as soon as we can.
