Work with Us
The Institute for the Study of Power, Crime, and Society is a hub for research, training and education on topics such as criminal and illegal governance, political violence and radicalization, and populism. We use an interdisciplinary approach and quantitative methodologies to produce solid evidence addressing both applied problems and fundamental theoretical challenges.
We welcome expressions of interest from outstanding students who intend to pursue a PhD in the Institute's research areas. We also welcome visits to the Institute from researchers at any career stage. To explore opportunities for collaborations, contact the Institute director, Prof. Giovanni Travaglino (email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Institute invites expressions of interest for the following Postdoctoral Fellowships schemes (rolling deadlines):
British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme: Three-year awards made to outstanding early career researchers. The scheme provides funding to enable the postdoctoral applicant to pursue an independent research project. Eligibility information (previous year cycle) is available here.
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions: The scheme enables researchers to carry out activities abroad to acquire new skills and develop their careers. Proposals are submitted together with the host institution. Additional information is available here.
Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships: The scheme assists those at an early career stage to carry out a significant piece of publishable work. Additional information is available here.
Newton International Fellowships: The scheme enables the best overseas postdoctoral researchers to work at a UK research institution for two years. Additional information is available here.
