Discover Social Science

  • Date10 June 2021

A second successful taster talk in our Discover Social Science Series took place in June. Karl Mason presented a lively talk on ‘Homelessness-before, during and beyond the Pandemic’ prompting lots of questions from participants

It’s great to see students from our social science and social work community join with external participants to listen to such an important topic.  Homelessness is a key social issue and challenging area of social policy. It is one of the many topics included in our BSc Social Science degree. This degree focuses on understanding people in society, including the policies and structural factors that frame people’s experiences of marginalisation and inequality.  If you are a prospective student thinking about UCAS options and interested in finding out more watch out for our next Discover Social Science taster and/or come along to 1 of our online open events or campus visits. You can also find out more about Social Science on our Course Finder (link to https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/studying-here/2021/undergraduate/social-work/bsc-social-science/ ) and get insights from one of our current Social Science students here.
