We offer a range of activities for Year 10 & 11 students that can be delivered in school and on our campus

Widening Access KS4 booking form University jargon buster

We can organise visits to campus that include meeting current students, exploring the campus facilities and taking part in engaging information and subject taster activities. We'll build a day with you choosing from existing activities or making something bespoke.

Duration: Half or full day. Typically 10:00 - 14:30

Students explore the range of options available to them after school and beyond to possible futures at university.

Duration: 45 - 60 minutes

  3. Confidence to navigate post-16 pathways by making considered decisions

Discussing the value of a university degree, you'll talk to current university students and also get tips on choosing a university and course. 

Duration: Flexible and tailored to the school/college.

Skills activities

We can support in school mock interviews or offer safe and secure online calls to give the opportunity to practice their interview skills and receive feedback.

  1. Possess adequate “career skills” such as interview technique, writing CV/application forms, identifying skills etc.
  2. Possess adequate ‘life skills’ such as time management, personal budgeting, etc.

An introduction to research skills, referencing & plagiarism, argumentative writing, reflective writing, critical thinking, independent learning styles and revision techniques.

A revision skills session with a difference. Current undergraduates share how they revised for GCSEs and A-Levels and help your students explore different revision techniques to suit various learning styles.

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes

The importance to know how to be kind to ourselves and find ways of coping with periods of stress and anxiety drives this exploration of practical techniques. Suitable for any year group as well as those preparing for exams.

Subject tasters

Connecting young people with nature.

The Schools’ Biodiversity Project helps schools to learn about the surrounding wildlife, from beetles to birds, as well as create places for them to live.

This includes introducing light boxes to monitor moths, pond dipping and setting camera traps. When needed, students are paired with trained undergraduates to help run curriculum-based projects.

Our Street Law sessions are inspired by similar interactive workshops pioneered in the US that help young people understand their rights. 

These exciting and dynamic sessions are delivered by current university students.
