Information

Students explore the range of options available to them after school and beyond to possible futures at university.

Duration: 45 - 60 minutes
Delivered by: Royal Holloway staff
Student outcomes:
  1. Understand post-16 pathways and the specific opportunities available in Higher Education
  2. Belief in own ability to progress to Higher Education/other post-18 pathways
  3. Confidence to navigate post-18 pathways by making considered decisions

Discussing the value of a university degree, you'll talk to current university students and also get tips on choosing a university and course. 

Duration: Flexible and tailored to the school/college.

  1. Understand the value of a degree in all terms (intellectual, cultural, financial, etc.)
  2. Know about the academic, financial and pastoral support available within universities
  3. Belief in own ability to progress to Higher Education/other post-18 pathways

Students will have the opportunity to examine the differences between these two popular Higher Education destinations. What are the benefits? How and when to apply?

Duration: 45 - 60 minutes

An introduction to student finance for younger students with a focus on affordability.

Duration: 45 - 60 minutes (or tailored)

  2. Confidence to navigate post-18 pathways by making considered decisions

Skills

A revision skills session with a difference. Current undergraduates share how they revised for GCSEs and A-Levels and help your students explore different revision techniques to suit various learning styles.

Duration: 60 - 90 minutes
Delivered by: Royal Holloway Student Ambassadors
Student outcomes:
  1. Possess adequate study skills for Higher Education (i.e. research, revision, independent learning)
  2. Belief in own ability to progress to Higher Education/other post-18 pathways
  3. Resilience to overcome obstacles on the way to Higher Education/other post-18 pathways
  4. Confidence in own subject knowledge and ability to study it at a university level

The importance to know how to be kind to ourselves and find ways of coping with periods of stress and anxiety drives this exploration of practical techniques. Suitable for any year group as well as those preparing for exams.

Aspiration

We can organise visits to campus that include meetings current students, exploring the campus facilities and taking part in engaging information and subject taster activities. Due to current circumstances please contact us to discuss options.

Duration: Half or full day. Typically 10:00 - 14:30
