Royal Holloway’s USA alumni ambassadors are highly valued volunteers who play a crucial role in supporting the university to grow and enhance its reputation internationally, in particular with the development of the alumni network and recruitment of new students.

Their strength is in creating positive relationships and networks, talking to prospective students and their parents about the Royal Holloway experience and acting as a first point of contact for alumni. They organise local alumni gatherings, promote alumni initiatives and are an invaluable point of contact for the university in-country.

The Royal Holloway American Excellence Scholarship is a cash award of £3,000 available to students from the United States with outstanding academic ability, studying any taught Masters course at Royal Holloway.

Generously supported by donations from our US-based alumni and friends over the past decade, the scholarship - formerly known as The American Foundation for Royal Holloway and Bedford New College (AFRHBNC) Excellence Scholarship - has supported over 30 US students at Royal Holloway to achieve a wide variety of postgraduate degrees ranging from MA Creative Writing to MSc Machine Learning.

The scholarship relieves some of the financial burdens of overseas study, providing recipients with more breathing room to focus on their studies and participate in the myriad of student societies and activities on offer.

If you are able to make a donation to support the scholarship, please visit royalholloway.ac.uk/donate-usa or contact us at development@royalholloway.ac.uk.
