We believe that Royal Holloway's Commitment to teaching History extends beyond our work in Higher Education.

To give students a taste of studying History at University we offer both Taster Study Days and Open Days to campus to allow prospective student so get a feel for both studying at Royal Holloway and our curriculum. Over the year we also give over 50 talks at Schools, College's or 6th Forms.

Open Days

Royal Holloway run a series of campus-wide Open Days every year.

Open Days offer you an informative, interactive and personalised experience of what Royal Holloway is really like through a range of talks and tours. You will be able to visit us here at the Department of History and hear from our field-leading academics and our current students, while gaining a more 'hands-on' experience of student life.

Taster Study Days

These events will compliment many topics students cover at A Level, but will also give a flavour of studying at university. They usually consist of a a taster lecture, seminars from leading historians, and a chance to explore campus on a guided tour led by current students.

School Visits

Our academics love visiting schools and giving talks. We offer talks focused on the curriculum, our current research and studying History at University. Please contact Dr Dawn-Marie Gibson if you are interested in coordinating a visit to your school.
