About the composer

William Choo is a Malaysian third-year undergraduate BMus student at Royal Holloway, University of London majoring in Composition. He has studied under distinguished composers such as Mark Bowden, Nina Whiteman, Tonia Ko, Tom Parkinson and Nathan James Dearden.

Over the year 2018/19, he was the musical director of the resident acapella choir, Absolute Harmony. Arrangements were written and conducted at ANATT (A Night at the Theatre), Winter Concert, Spring Concert, Brandenburg Choral Festival, and Leavers Concert. Among the highlighted works include Billie Eilish’s ‘When I Was Older’, Panic!’s ‘Ballad of Mona Lisa’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young and Beautiful’.

Recent work is involvement with The Student Workshop Collaborative Film Festival hosted by the Student Workshop. The piece, 'When the Wind Calls' was featured and added into the Student Workshop Library made available for future production teams.

He is also currently collaborating with film director Brandon Wade in writing film music for his upcoming film series, ‘Equitism’, which filming will start over the year 20/21. Pieces produced for this project include ‘Founders’, ‘Vanguard’ and ‘Tournament’.
