1 - Community science methods to reduce (groundwater) flood risk at the local level, and to provide policy support to regional and national government
2 - Sustainable uses of groundwater for potable supply in east Africa, and to cool down underground railway stations (e.g. in London)
3 - The structure of the London Basin and the effect of underlying basement rock on surface motions, drinking water supply, and sub-surface geotechnical risk
4 - Predictive mapping of climate-change related disease risk across the Global South
5 - Active-source seismology: improvements in imaging vertical structures in the sub-surface, with an application to CCS
Policy support and media appearances: various aspects of hydrology and hydrogeology, including construction of new reservoirs in the UK, managed aquifer recharge, water shortages, designing local planning laws in response to fluvial and groundwater flood risk
