Research Interests:
My research focuses on economics education, with interests in how generative AI is changing teaching, learning, assessment, employability, and student outcomes more broadly. I study the ways students and educators engage with AI technologies, using large-scale observational and experimental research methods to evaluate educational interventions and generate research-based recommendations for practice. A key strand of my work examines assessment reforms, including the design of authentic and innovative assessment approaches that maintain academic standards while recognising the realities of AI-supported learning. I am also interested in the implications of AI for widening participation, graduate employability, and the future value of economics degrees in a rapidly changing labour market. My research has implications for embedding AI across economics curricula, programmes, and institutions, as well as developing new frameworks for evaluating student knowledge, skills, and learning outcomes in contemporary educational environments.
