Research Interests:
I am an applied economist whose research covers industrial organization, household finance, and innovation. My research lies at the intersection of industrial organization, finance, the economics of innovation, and applied econometrics.
A central theme of my work is how firms and public institutions design contracts, screening mechanisms, and decision processes when agents differ in economically important but imperfectly observed ways. I am particularly interested in how these institutional choices affect market outcomes and welfare, and in using structural models and microdata to evaluate alternative policy designs. My research spans consumer credit markets, financial regulation and redress, patent institutions, and the development of econometric methods for multidimensional choice.
