There are several exciting and engaging events taking place over the next few months at Royal Holloway – many of which are open to the public. These events range from thought-provoking talks from University academics, to fascinating exhibitions and mesmerising musical performances from the Choir of Royal Holloway.

Ivan Kyncl: In The Minute – Wednesday 6 November until early 2025, 10am to 6pm every day – Emily Wilding Davison Exhibition Space

An exhibition running for several months in the Exhibition Space in the Emily Wilding Davison building, on the University’s Egham campus. The display catalogues the life and work of Ivan Kyncl - a Czech-born photographer who captured over five hundred plays, operas and musicals throughout his career.

Through 60 productions – one for every second of a minute – this display celebrates Kyncl’s unique ability to capture the essence, atmosphere and emotion of being in the moment.

All welcome, no booking necessary.

David Vilaseca Memorial Lecture 2024 – Tuesday 19 November, 6.15pm – Founder’s Main Lecture Theatre

Claudia Hopkins, Professor of Art History at Edinburgh College of Art will deliver a lecture on the works of Spanish painter Gabriel Morcillo Raya, situating his work in the context of his own period and Spanish Orientalism. The lecture will be followed by a reception in the University’s Picture Gallery.

Midweek Music – Wednesdays, 1.15pm until 1.45pm – Chapel

The Choir’s popular lunchtime concert series returns and runs all term both in person and online. Hear one of the finest university choirs in the UK perform varied programmes, with music from the 12th to the 21st centuries in the surroundings of the university's gilded Chapel.

A Festival of Lessons and Carols – Saturday 7 December, 6pm – Chapel

Join us in the picturesque Chapel on for our Egham campus for our annual Festival of Lessons and Carols with the Founder's Choir.
