Online donations can be made via our partner, Chapel and York Foundation. There is a 2% donation processing fee. Therefore, if you wish to donate an amount over $1,000 we would be grateful if you would consider donating via cheque rather than online.

Please visit the website https://chapel-yorkusfoundation.org/donate/ to make any online or recurring donations and select Royal Holloway, University of London from the 'Suggest a recipient' box. The Chapel & York US Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation.

Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt from the Chapel & York US Foundation for your tax return and the funds will be transferred to the university every quarter.

If you would like to make a provision in your will or trust bequeathing money to the university, please consult a professional advisor for guidance. We are not permitted to offer tax or legal advice but can share a sample wording:

I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $XXX or xxx% of the residue of my estate to British Schools & Universities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with federal tax identification number 13-616-1189 to be used by the Foundation to support Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, which has full charitable status in England with Tax exempt reference number XN69536 for such purposes as Royal Holloway and Bedford New College deems appropriate [or for a specific project]. If British Schools & Universities Foundation is not in existence or is not a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization at the time of my death, then I leave such bequest to Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, which has full charitable status in England with Tax exempt reference number XN69536 to be used as it deems appropriate [or could be a specific project].

If you would like to set up charitable remainder trusts, please designate it to British Schools and Universities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with federal tax identification number 13-616-1189 clearly stating the preference for the funds to go to Royal Holloway, University of London. We advise you to consult with a professional advisor for guidance (usually a lawyer and banker) prior to making decisions.

Please advise your matching company that the cheque they send to British Schools and Universities Foundation matching your donation must indicate your name and the institution you prefer to benefit. The information required by many Matching Grant programs is as follows: Website: bsuf.org; Main Address: 575 Madison Avenue, Suite 1006, New York NY 10022-2511; Email address: exec (at) bsuf.org; TIN: 13-616-1189

Many companies with matching gift programs do not provide information identifying the original donor when matches are forwarded to BSUF. This can make it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for BSUF to pair matching gifts with donors and preferences.
