School of Life Science and Environment Virtual Career Day

Have you registered to attend the “School of Life Science and Environment Virtual Career Day” on Monday 15th June, 2 – 4 pm?

Join this online event and hear from successful RHUL alumni and key employers from Pharma, Media and Publishing, Environmental Sector and Petrol.

There will be 2 parallel chatrooms and you will be able to attend 2 talks from both chatrooms providing they are not clashing time-wise.

Bernie Vining is a Senior Petroleum Geoscientist with in excess of 40 years international experience in both executive and scientific roles in the petroleum industry with Exxon (latterly ExxonMobil) and Baker Hughes.  On his retirement from Baker Hughes in 2015, Bernie founded Vining Geoscience Ltd, located in London, to provide high quality, bespoke consultancy services to the petroleum sector.

3-4 pm Harvinder Bhandal, Bioventus Pharmahttps://www.linkedin.com/in/harvey-bhandal-875b94bb/

Harvinder is a Senior Territory Manager at Bioventus Pharma, a global pharmaceuticals company.  He is also an External Advisory Board Member for Life Sciences at Royal Holloway University.

Les' career has focused on strategy & innovation, digital & edtech and science education.  Throughout his career, he has worked to develop solutions to problems in education and to find ways to improve educational outcomes. No matter what he does,  Les tries to keep in mind the excitement that a learner can get when their experience of education really works for them.

3-4 pm Roxanne Appleyard, Strategy Advisor at Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; https://www.linkedin.com/in/roxanne-appleyard-84466393/

 

 Roxanne is passionate about the environment, education and equality. She is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear (CBRN) Strategy Adviser at Defra and was previously a Water Quality Policy Adviser.  She has also worked as a Sustainability Consultant for the Ministry of Defence as part of her Masters Degree.

Each session will consist of:

  • A quick introduction from the host
  • 15 minutes presentation from the guest speaker
  • 30 minutes Q&A where you have the opportunity to ask questions

 

Please ensure you book for each individual session via the above links.  It will take you through to Target Connect where you will find the MS teams link for the session.  It will also prompt you to submit a question for the speaker  - you don't need to necessarily ask this on the day but it allows us to collate questions in advance that are of interest to the audience.
