The 2024 Biennial Conference of the Society for Italian Studies, the largest scholarly society in the UK for the study of Italian language, literature, and culture, will take place in person at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The Location

Royal Holloway's campus is in Egham, Surrey, to the south-west of London. The easiest and most convenient way to travel to Royal Holloway will depend on where you are travelling from and your time of arrival.  

Travel by air

The nearest airport to Royal Holloway is Heathrow, about 10 miles away.

You can take one of the many taxis outside Heathrow's terminals. Ride-hailing services such as Uber, Lyft, and Bolt are also available.  

Alternatively, make your way to Heathrow Central Bus Station and take the number 8 bus from Heathrow Terminal 5, which stops in front of the main campus.  

The other London airports are a considerable distance from Royal Holloway, and you should be aware that travel by taxi from these airports will cost £60 or more, depending upon the airport at which you arrive.

Travel by train  

The closest train station to Royal Holloway is in Egham, about a 15-minute walk from the campus. Egham station is on a main line which connects to London Waterloo and Reading.

Travel by car  

The campus is located off the A30 (Egham Hill). The postcode is: TW20 0EX
