Richard Sadler

Richard Sadler is a highly skilled bass guitarist and double bassist, known for his versatility and expertise across a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, pop, blues, and country. Based in London, he works as a musician, composer, and sound engineer, contributing his talents to both studio recordings and live performances. Richard has played as a session musician with notable artists such as Ray Davies (of The Kinks), Paul Weller, and Tom Jones, showcasing his exceptional ability to adapt to various musical styles.

Throughout his career, Richard has performed at prestigious festivals and venues across the UK, including Glastonbury, The Big Chill, and the London Jazz Festival, as well as renowned locations such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. His international performances span countries like the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and many parts of Europe, having graced stages in cities such as Rochester, Montreal, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Queenstown.

Richard’s work has also reached television and radio audiences, with appearances on Later with Jools Holland and RTE Eire Radio. He has recorded sessions for BBC Radio 3 and 6, including the Jazz Line Up and Tom Robinson shows.

In addition to his performance career, Richard teaches at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, offering his expertise during their summer school programme, and an an external tutor in bass guitar for Royal Holloway University of London.
