A Jean Monnet talk given by Visiting Professor, Councillor Robert Evans

As the attention of the West has turned towards realignment between the United States and Russia, with implications for the European Union’s role in Ukraine, there has been less focus on Europe’s relations with the countries of South Asia. In this talk with students, Robert Evans will reflect on his experience with the politics of the region and on its relations with the European Union and with Britain.

Robert Evans was from 1994 until 2009 a Member of the European Parliament for London. He chaired the European Parliament’s Delegation to South Asia from 2007 until 2009. He is currently Leader of the Labour Group on Surrey County Council.
