Irrespective of geography, our web site and online community on Twitter (@TeacherHub_Eng) allow you to keep up-to-date with our resources as they are released, participate in group discussions and collaborate in creating new resources around A-level texts. 

For those close enough to campus, the Department of English hosts events that are open to the general public, including:

• Shakespearean group play readings
• Literature festivals
• Author readings and book signings
• Centre for Victorian Studies seminars, and other public talks.

Teachers, their students and parents of students are all welcome to attend these events, to experience the rich extra-curricular learning environment at Royal Holloway.

KS5 students can also refer to attendance at these events on their university application forms, to demonstrate proven interest in English Literature in their personal statement.

Our flagship event is our TeacherHub>English Forum, where our community comes together for inspiration, connection, CPD and to share ideas and review resources.

The TeacherHub>English Forum takes place at our Egham Campus in an evening towards the end of the summer term. All KS4 and KS5 English Literature teachers are welcome. Read more.

In addition, we invite some of our local TeacherHub>English participants to contribute to focus groups, where they help us to prioritise and shape the resources and opportunities we are creating to meet their needs. 

To ensure the TeacherHub>English programme meets the real needs of KS4 and KS5 teachers, we host steering committee and focus group meetings a few times during the year. The knowledge and feedback of the participants who are teaching KS4 and KS5 English Literature shapes the direction, priorities and timings we implement.

This contribution is recognised by the Department of English at Royal Holloway and we endorse it being listed on the curriculum vitaes of participants.
