Our research projects and centres reflect our commitment to support researcher-led scholarship while focusing on large collaborative projects.
Several research awards from ERC and AHRC for our research on television culture and production history enhanced our research engagement with industrial analysis and the impact of technological innovation on cultural content. These in turn enabled the large grant success of StoryFutures.
Today, StoryFutures and StoryFutures Academy (the only national centre of excellence for immersive storytelling) are expanding globally, with StoryFutures China and StoryFutures Canada.
Our many research projects explore:
- film and television history
- digital cultures and creativity
- the analysis and practice of story-telling
- diasporic cinema and the impact of left radicalism on Indian cinema
- public engagement with the Holocaust and other genocides
Our research projects and centres host conferences, screenings, exhibitions and workshops that involve collaborations with both the cultural and heritage sector and creative industries.
