EUScreen

Television Centre for The history of Television Culture and Production is a Partner in the EUscreenXL network and the EUscreen Foundation. 

A collaboration between TV archives and researchers, the EUscreen network consists of a consortium of 31 organisations from 22 European countries, founded to increase access to the archival materials. 

The consortium was established in 2006 and draws on the expertise of a wide network of audiovisual archives, academic and technical partners. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the network, the EUscreen Foundation was founded in 2013.  

Its principal project is the maintenance of the EUscreen website and collection. EUscreen offers a significant collection of online audiovisual cultural heritage objects.  

EUScreen was supported by a series of European Commission grants under the eContentPlus and Competition and Innovation schemes. The amounts awarded to  Professor John Ellis as Co-PI totalled £682,605 

The EUscreen consortium also publishes VIEW Journal of European Television History and Culture, an innovative peer reviewed online journal. Professor John Ellis is one of the editors in chief and the Television Centre provides support for the journal.
