Quantifying Uncertainty with Conformal Prediction

  • Date 29 May 2024
  • Time 15:00 - 16:00
  • Category Seminar

Dr Gregory Ashton (Royal Holloway, University of London)

I will give a pedagogical introduction to Conformal Prediction, an Artificial Intelligence approach developed by Computer Scientists at RHUL to quantify uncertainties for machine learning algorithms. I will introduce the idea, demonstrate how it can be applied, and then also discuss its connection with empirical p-values. The talk will be accessible to anyone from the department, but aimed at students and postdocs who may want to use the method in their own research.
