Andrew Boggs, who is currently University Clerk and Director of the Governance, Compliance and Legal Office (GCLO) at Kingston University, will start as the new University Secretary in August.

Andrew’s current responsibilities at Kingston University oversees the University’s corporate governance and legal matters, data and information governance, risk, business continuity, health and safety and institutional insurance, and internal audit, and leading higher education regulatory compliance and serving as the chief point of contact for the Office for Students.

Before coming to the UK, Andrew served as a Policy Advisor to the Government of Ontario, Canada, on higher education policy and since living in Britain, he has worked with the QAA, The Russell Group, and the Department for Education; experiences which have provided him with a deep understanding of English higher education regulatory, as well as understanding of the UK university sector’s policy environment.

Andrew is also a published author on higher education policy, regulation, and history.
