Anthony Carey

Anthony Carey is Senior Adviser, Board Practice and Public Policy at Mazars, the accountancy firm where he was a partner for many years. While at Mazars Anthony has been actively involved in thought leadership and public interest issues related to the profession including in the areas of audit reform, corporate governance and human rights. Anthony co-authored Mazars’ Board Charter for Sustainable Success and co-developed the firm’s Board Polarities model.

Anthony is also Treasurer of the Royal College of Radiologists, a board member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Treasurer of the Florence Nightingale Foundation.

Anthony is a chartered accountant and chartered director and an experienced facilitator of board effectiveness reviews. Anthony’s past appointments include being a member of the Executive of the Quoted Companies Alliance, the FRC Financial Reporting Review Panel and the FRC Financial Reporting Lab Steering Group. Anthony also served as chair of the Finance Committee of the Higher Education Academy, now part of Advance HE.
