Senthil Gomathinayagam

Senthil Gomathinayagam is an Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank in the Capital Centre of Expertise, which manages the bank’s global Capital Operations which includes managing a large team.

He has 23 years of experience with global leaders in Investment and Commercial Banking across the UK, India, and Singapore. Senthil has worked across various functions such as Treasury Markets, Risk management, Operations, Product development, Regulatory compliance, and led many projects.

Senthil graduated in BSC. Biochemistry from RHUL and transitioned from Science to Commerce by studying for 2 Master’s at the University of Southampton and Lancaster University.
Senthil is committed to helping people understand the banking industry. He has trained many banking professionals to become qualified and has been a guest speaker at the Indian Institute of Technology and EDU Pristine. He also created a charity in the UK to fund rural development in India, focusing on financial independence and education.
During his time in RHUL Senthil was the Secretary of the Badminton club and this interest has stayed with him throughout, along with Cricket, especially in India.
