Dr Lucy Gill-Simmen

Vice-Dean for Education and Student Experience

Dr. Lucy Gill-Simmen is the Vice-Dean for Education and Student Experience and a Senior Lecturer in Marketing in the School of Business and Management at Royal Holloway, University of London. With a passion for business and management education, she is dedicated to providing the best and most inclusive educational experience for all students. She holds both a MBA and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Imperial College Business School, London. Her pedagogic research interests focus on developing human skills amongst students, devising inclusive feedback and assessment strategies, and exploring values-based pedagogies for educating the 'whole' individual.

A researcher and writer, she has published her work in various academic journals and most recently with Harvard Business School Publishing. She has also contributed thought-provoking pieces to The Conversation and Times Higher Education. Her innovative approach to education has been recognised with several teaching awards from Royal Holloway for her work in inclusive education design. In 2022, she received the prestigious Global Women in Marketing Award for her role as a marketing educator. She has also secured grants for her research in student employability, the development of inclusive education practices, and most recently, to explore the role of AI in Marketing Practice.

As Deputy Chair for the Academy of Marketing's Marketing Education Special Interest Group, she continues to shape the future of marketing education. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves on the Chartered Association of Business Schools' Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Committee. Through her leadership, research, and dedication to innovative pedagogy, she is committed to preparing students for the evolving landscape of business and management education in the digital age.
