Professor Anica Zeyn

Vice-Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Since joining Royal Holloway in 2015, after earning her PhD from Leuphana University Lüneburg in Germany, Professor Anica Zeyen has been dedicated to advancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Currently, she serves as the Vice Dean for EDI at the School of Business and Management, a role she has held since 2023.

Anica's research focuses on enhancing economic participation and societal inclusion for disabled people. She explores entrepreneurship for disabled people, disability in work, leisure, travel, and tourism. As a qualitative researcher, she employs methods like ethnographies and co-produced studies, working closely with community members to understand the lived experiences of disabled people worldwide. Her research has been supported by various external grants, leading to collaborations with scholars across multiple disciplines.

Committed to social change, Anica has co-curated exhibitions, run podcasts, and co-directed documentaries to reach broader audiences. She is also active on editorial boards and co-founded the Spring Institute, an annual event focused on advancing disability research in business and management. Outside academia, Anica volunteers with Guide Dogs for the Blind UK and the Surrey Coalition of Disabled People.
