Head of Department of Information and Operations Management
Dr Philip Fei Wu is Professor of Information Management and Head of Department of Information and Operations Management. He holds a PhD from the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
Broadly speaking, Philip’s research examines human behaviour in technology-mediated environments from sociopsychological perspectives. In recent years, his work focuses on online customer reviews, digital labour platforms, and digital health. He has published in leading academic journals such as Information & Management, Information System Journal, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, New Technology, Work and Employment, Social Science & Medicine, among others. His research has received support from major funding bodies such as EPSRC and Innovate UK.
Philip serves on the editorial boards of Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Information Technology & People (ITP), and Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST). He is also a regular AE/reviewer for International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS).
Philip has held several leadership positions throughout his career, such as deputy subject group lead, deputy director of postgraduate research, ESRC SeNSS pathway institutional lead, and director of three different MSc programmes.
