Classics Moves Up the Table

Classics at Royal Holloway moves up to 6th in the UK (The Guardian’s University Guide 2024)

  • Date11 September 2023

Teaching in Classics at Royal Holloway Highly Rated in The Guardian League Tables

The Classics Department has moved two places up The Guardian league tables to sit in sixth place nationally.

The Guardian tables focus entirely on teaching and the student experience. They count students’ academic achievements and the national survey of student experience. Such a result is a tribute to the community of learners that we have at Royal Holloway. We now sit just below places such as Oxford, Cambridge and St Andrews.

League tables are only a crude measure of the university experience and it is really important for students to find the right place for them: many of our fellow Classics Departments round the country are really good. To rank so high in such company is deserved recognition for the efforts of our students and staff. Next week, we welcome back the Old Hands and meet the New Faces, ready to provide once again the great education and experience that led to these results.
