Robert Hampson and Katherine Isobel Baxter have been awarded third prize in this year's Adam Gillon Awards by the Joseph Conrad Society of America for their co-edited collection, Conrad and Language (Edinburgh University Press).

Hampson with Conrad Book

It is unusual for an edited collection to be honoured in this way. It is also Professor Hampson's third award from the Joseph Conrad Society of America. In 2015, he won first prize in the Adam Gillon Awards for best Conrad book of that year for his monograph Conrad's Secrets (Palgrave Macmillan). In 2017, he won the biennial Ian P. Watt Prize for Excellence in Conrad Studies in recognition of his life-time achievement.

Professor Hampson was also recently interviewed about Conrad's work and life by KVP Kultura, a Polish arts and culture channel, for two episodes of Chuligan Literacki. Please see below for more details.
