A look at the theory and application of Geographical Information Systems – Dr Gwilym Eades
This lecture gives an overview of key theories of geographical information systems as well as practical applications of geographical information systems (GIS) including disaster management and public health mapping. We take a critical approach to GIS, including coverage of topics addressing A level modules, human geography, and geopolitics. Indigenous countermapping and social implications of GIS give students a critical edge in assessing the technology alongside practice and theory.
