Exploring the often-surprising effects that the climate can have on natural hazards such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes – Dr Chris Satow

In this talk Chris will explore the effects that climate change is having on the natural hazards of the solid earth. Atmospheric hazards such as heatwaves and flooding are obviously going to be impacted by global climate changes, in general becoming more frequent and/or more extreme. However, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides and tsunamis are also influenced climate change and often in surprising ways. Who would have thought that the climate could influence the movements and hazards of the solid earth!
