Why did you choose to study at Royal Holloway?

Apart from the incredibly stunning campus, Royal Holloway was close enough to London to be able to take advantage of the opportunities provided there but far enough to really have that university experience and community feeling. The university has a truly diverse pool of students and that was something that really attracted me towards it because it meant I could learn a lot from those around me and make the most out of my university experience!

What did you enjoy most about your course?

What I liked most about studying Law at Royal Holloway was the time tutors are willing to take out for students. Some of them will go above and beyond and this really makes you as a student feel valued; I remember a tutor giving me feedback on a past paper the night before an exam and I am still super grateful for that! Although Law is a relatively new course at the university (I was the second cohort to study it) the school has done a great job in teaching it and offering opportunities such as mooting, interviewing and the chance to get involved in competitions for those that were interested.

How did your experience here help you to grow as an individual?

The university really has an active student body and getting involved in it really helped me with my confidence and people skills. Establishing a society in my final year was an incredibly enjoyable experience as it taught me to be proactive in my approach and the university was really accommodating. Volunteering for Citizens Advice on their research, The Housing Stability Project, also had a great impact on my ability to empathise with those less fortunate and work well in a team!

My journey since graduating

After graduating, I travelled to Pakistan for a bit to explore my roots and culture. I then started studying a joint masters and the LPC at BPP Holborn in September and am currently still undertaking this further study. I have become President of the Commercial Awareness Society at BPP and applied many of the skills I developed at Royal Holloway to manage my team and organise events.

What advice would you give to students/prospective students?

Royal Holloway has a lot of opportunities to offer and will support you if you have any ideas for events so be proactive! If you have an idea for a new society or an event, use your voice and you will be listened to. Make the most out the university experience by getting involved in as many socials and extracurricular activities as you can – Royal Holloway has a very active student body so whether its sports, volunteering, societies etc get involved!
