Socially distanced meeting

The Department prepares for next term

  • Date15 September 2020

Our first socially distanced meeting on campus took place today; it was the first time since March that more than two colleagues met in person on campus!

Distanced Meeting 2

Socially distanced meeting on campus

The department met, some members in person and some online, to discuss and practice how to do group work this coming term. We have all been preparing for online and blended learning since April, most colleagues working exclusively from home and fighting shortages to get key equipment including visualisers, blackboards, tablets, microphones and webcams (not to mention desks!). We have been experimenting with this new hardware as well as new software to create videos, quizzes, and homework. Now the lecture theatres have been prepared so that we can try everything out on campus.

We are looking forward  to the beginning of term to engage with students and share our new work and, more importantly, our enthusiasm for mathematics.
