Event description

Editing Historical Music for the 21st Century is a series of research training seminars aimed at music postgraduates from all UK universities, developing skills in the study and editing of musical sources from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The third seminar will be held at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and will explore challenges encountered in the study and critical editing of printed sources from the late 17th to late 18th centuries, with guest speakers Professor Rebecca Herissone (University of Manchester) and Professor Christopher Dingle (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire).

The seminar series is convened by Stephen Rose (Royal Holloway) and Carrie Churnside (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) and is generously supported by the New Berlioz Edition Trust.

Participation is free of charge. Lunch is provided, and travel bursaries are available for postgraduate attendees. Online participation is also possible. To book a place, postgraduates should contact Adrian So, giving brief details of their university and their topic of study.
