From Serbia to Wales, Devon to Radnorshire, Dr Nathan James Dearden shares the many places that you may be able to hear his music this coming summer:

'locus iste' in Serbia

The Founder’s Choir of Royal Holloway will be touring Serbia this summer 2024, featuring a blend of choral classics and the contemporary. As part of this tour, the choir will be premiering Nathan's introit, Locus iste, in several venues in Novi Sad and Subotica. For more information, please visit this website (link embedded).

Study with Nathan at Musicfest Aberystwyth

Musicfest Aberystwyth are excited to bring back their composition summer school and are equally excited to invite Welsh composer Nathan James Dearden to lead this course. The aim of this 7-day course is to provide music creators with a host of opportunities and workshops that can kickstart the next stage of their career and to discover a toolkit of skills to support their development. This year's festival will also feature the world premiere of No other haven, written in collaboration with Sinfonia Cymru. For more information, please visit this website (link embedded).

In residence at Three Choirs Festival

Nathan will be in residence this July at Three Choirs Festival in Worcester, the world's longest running music festival. Among other events, he will host a talk with Dame Judith Weir and Joe Duddell about their works being performed at this year’s festival, receive a world-premiere of messages with Festival Voices, Beth Taylor, and Philharmonia Orchestra, and also join the judge's panel for the 2024 ORA Singers Young Composers Showcase. Shortlisted for national award at Eisteddfod 2024

Nathan's new work, (ail-)atgofion, written in conjunction with Sinfonia Cymru, will be performed as part of the Tlws y Cyfansoddwr [Composer's Medal] ceremony at this year's Eisteddfod Genedlaethol in Rhondda Cynon Taff. Steeped in tradition, the National Eisteddfod is one of the world's leading cultural events. The history of Wales' national festival can be traced back to 1176, with the first modern day Eisteddfod held in Aberdare in 1861, featuring dance, music, poetry, theatre, and the sciences. The Tlws y Cyfansoddwr is most prestigious award for a music creator in Wales. For more information, please visit this website (link embedded).
