PGCR 2019: Emma Pascoe

PGCR 2019: Emma Pascoe

Our 2019 cohort

Since having her compositions performed by school ensembles, Emma Pascoe has continued to write music for local and university groups, including the Jane Holloway Choir, the Strings Camerata of St Anne’s College, Oxford, and members of CHROMA. Her portfolio of instrumental works comprises pieces written for piano, accordion, guitar, violin, harp and clarinet, as well as for chamber ensembles. Her most prevalent (and presently preferred) writing is for choir, with three choral premieres this year, and she is looking forward to working on her music with the Chapel Choir. She has been Highly Commended in the Chipping Norton Music Festival composition class for the last three years, and won the Rotary Club Cup for Music in 2016 for a performance of one of her pieces, with recognition from Craig Ogden, Anthony Williams and Paul Harris. She is in the final year of her BMus degree, which has involved studying with composers such as Nathan James Dearden, Nina Whiteman and John Traill.
