Selected collaboration for the 2022 Picture Gallery Composer-in-Residence Scheme

About the music creator

Asia Bonuccelli is a classical pianist, singer, composer, and conductor. She was born in Pietrasanta (Tuscany) and began studying music at the age of eight, thanks to her Grandmother Anna, a classical pianist and her first teacher. Asia began her piano studies with Lavinia Biagini and later with Riccardo Peruzzi at the Conservatoire Luigi Boccherini (Lucca). She also began taking singing lessons and sang soprano in a local choir, occasionally accompanying them with the piano. During summer 2020 she had an internship as an opera assistant at Fondazione Festival Pucciniano (Torre del Lago), in which she had to support both opera singers and directors. She is currently a third-year music student at Royal Holloway. She performs as a soprano with Jane Holloway and Founders Choir, Raven Opera, and Egham Choral. She is the brass band's deputy conductor, a member of the Conductor Collective, and a member of the Orchestra committee as assistant librarian and assistant stage manager. As a composer she is involved in the projects New Music Collective and Picture Gallery Composer in Residence Scheme at Royal Holloway. She is also a piano and vocal teacher at School of Mindful Music.
