This prestigious international designation is presented by the Association for Psychological Science (APS) to outstanding early-career psychologists, whose innovative work has already advanced the field and signals great potential for their continued contributions.

Dr. Murphy's resaerch focuses on the interplay between interoception (the perception of the body’s internal state), social cognition and mental health, and how these might vary across development.

Commenting on the awad, Dr. Murphy said "It is a real honour to receive this award. APS was the first conference I delivered a talk at during my PhD - back in 2016 - and to be recognised in this way, and be included amongst other early career scientists whom I deeply respect, is the greatest compliment."
