So you want to be a Clinical Psychologist?

As part of British Science Week 2018 Dr Helen Pote, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway University was invited to talk to primary school children about her role as a Researcher and Clinical Psychologist.

It was not an easy task trying to explain to a group of sixty, 10-11 year olds the brain and behavioural underpinnings of clinical psychology.

Dr Pote’s daughter and dog featured in the presentation to help the pupils understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviour are connected and can lead them to want to cuddle cute dogs or fear SATs exams. Hopefully the talk inspired a few future clinical psychologists.
