Centre for the Study of Emotion and Law

Centre for the Study of Emotion and Law

We are pleased to announce the creation of a new multidisciplinary research hub of Royal Holloway academics from the departments of Psychology, Law (including sociology, social work and criminology), Media Arts, History, Geography, Politics and Information Security!

Our research expertise and approach is varied but we share an interest in learning more about the connections and relationships between ‘emotion’ and law. In particular, how understandings and knowledge about what ’emotion’ is affects individuals and their fair treatment by legal frameworks, institutions, bureaucratic structures and processes.
