Launch Event of the data collected as part of the ESRC project "Secondary analysis of data collected over a 20 year period by HM Inspectorate of Prisons"
We are excited to invite you to our event to launch the publication of the data from almost 100,000 prisoner surveys collected by HM Inspectorate of Prisons over the last twenty years. The event marks the end of our ESRC research project "Secondary analysis of data collected over a 20 year period by HM Inspectorate of Prisons". The surveys provide comprehensive data of prisoners' own perceptions of every aspect of their treatment and conditions in every prison in England and Wales. This event will offer a unique opportunity to understand the content, extent, and quality of this ground-breaking resource for researchers, policy makers, and practitioners and how it can be accessed.
The hybrid data launch event will take place on Thursday, 25 May 2023 from 2 pm to 5 pm (core session 2-3 pm, followed by a more interactive session for those attending in person), at the prestigious Senate House in London and online. During the event, we will provide an overview of the research project, including the data source, scope, and impact of the project. We will showcase the database, providing information on how to access it, and outline some trends that emerged from our initial analyses.
We are delighted to be joined by HM Chief Inspector of Prisons, Charlie Taylor, who will share his insights and perspectives on the significance of the project and the database in informing criminal justice policy and practice.
In addition to our team of researchers, we are pleased to welcome a diverse group of attendees including academic researchers, policy makers, and professionals from the criminal justice sector. This event will provide an excellent opportunity for networking with individuals who share an interest in the use of this valuable database.
Please RSVP at the link above to confirm your attendance and indicate whether you plan to attend in person or online. Due to limited space at our venue, we kindly request that those who wish to attend in person sign up by Thursday, 11 May.
